This page will tell you about what is going on at Hither Green Baptist Church: Sunday services, small groups, special events, community work and the Bridge School of English.

Sundays

We have regular Sunday morning services at 10:30am, including worship, teaching and "Ignition" groups for the children.

On Sunday evenings the LIGHT Cafe meets at 6:30pm, offering refreshments and a chance to pray. Visitors are welcome and the group also has a prayer request box available at the church.

There is also a calendar available in the members area of this site - talk to Wulf Forrester-Barker at one of the services if you would like access to this section.

Small Groups

We have a number of small groups running, with plans to expand this in the autumn. The groups are:

Living Praise
The Living Praise group meets on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm.
Bereans
The Bereans group, drawing its name from a passage in Acts 17, also meets on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm.
Ladies' Group
This group meets at 5pm on Sunday evenings and is for ladies only. This slot has proved popular with those who often find it hard to get out on weekday evenings.

Special Events

Special events can be found in the Church Info section of our website. A weekly newsheet is also available from the church with regular diary updates.

Community Work

We run "Sparklers" for babies, toddlers and their parents or carers, every Wednesday morning during term-time. We host lunches for senior citizens once a term. The hall is also sometimes hired to local community groups, such as The Friends of Mountsfield Park, supporting their work in the area.

Please contact the church office on 020 8852 3997 if you would like more information about any of these community initiatives.

Bridge School of English

On Tuesday morning, Tuesday evening and Friday morning, the church hosts the Bridge School of English. This is run by people from a number of local churches and provides affordable lessons in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
