Frying pan!

More work in the garden this morning, preparing some ground and planting out some rhubarb. I hope they will take — they have been hanging round for months and were very dry. If they don't show any signs of life, at least we have a space ready to put some fresh rhubarb.

Part of the work was digging the ground. It had been covered with a mixture of cut grass of various kinds and sticks. Some of that went on the compost and some was set aside - the "rotted hay" will make a good mulch! I went deeper and removed several bits of brick and tile, half a stone slab and, most unexpected, a broken cast iron frying pan.

That is today's gardening over. I have a few other things to do and then will start cooking for tonight's murder mystery dinner party!
