For at least the last couple of weeks, I've seen one or two butterflies when cycling across the field at the back of the Churchill to work (on dry days). Today, though, there seemed to be a significant increase in numbers.

I don't know whether this is due to the time of year, the recent intense heat, a combination of the two or something else. Whatever the cause, I am determined to enjoy it and will be cycling slowly enough to let them get out of my way and to enjoy their colours.
