Way back in January, shortly after getting my new Nikon D40 digital SLR, I
took a series of photos using the self-timer with the intention of sticking
them together to make a multiple self-portrait (I was going to add "of myself",
but I realised that's a bit superfluous, as I can't really make a self-portrait
of anyone else); I believe this process is often referred to as cloning.
I've now finally got round to finishing the editing work, so here's the picture:
The creative idea behind it was to show myself getting up to a few of the activities I like to engage in while sitting on my sofa. I could have added a number of other activities, such as sleeping, watching DVDs or playing several other musical instruments, but there's only room for three of me on the sofa at once.
I'm fairly pleased with how the picture's turned out, especially for my first attempt at this kind of thing. It makes a nice change from the usual self-portraits, at least. Someday perhaps I'll be able to find other people who are willing to let me take photos of them.
